The SRC Balut Section was formed in 1983 by a group of committed and dedicated members to promote Balut as a form of recreation amongst SRC members.

Regular in-house activities and tournaments are held either on Wednesday evenings or Saturday afternoons at Lounge 1883. The Section also regularly represents SRC in the annual Inter-Club tournament and Inter-Port Balut Competition.

The SRC Bridge Section holds regular practice sessions on Tuesday evenings at the Tessensohn Room and beginner practice sessions on Friday evenings at the Cards Room. New players are welcome to join the section and participate in introductory courses and inter-club tournaments.

Section members can look forward to participating in a series of tournaments and inter-club competitions. Friendly competitive matches are regularly arranged, to keep the interest in chess high. All are welcome to learn to play chess at planned beginner classes, while advanced players can hone their skills at training sessions.

The DanceSport Section organises dance parties at affordable prices to its members and guests, in pursuit of promoting dance as a sport. With a membership strength of close to 250, DS organises bi-monthly social activities, dance classes and dance nights for members and their friends to forge and strengthen family ties. A quarterly newsletter keeps members informed of all on-going activities. 

Regular dance classes and ballroom dancing sessions take place on Tuesday evenings at Lounge 1883.

As line dancing began to grow in popularity in Singapore, the Club also formed its first Line Dance Section in May 2002. Since its founding, it has grown from strength to strength. Local as well as visiting dance instructors, hold regular workshops at the Club. Australians Jan Wyllie and Terry Hogan, as well as American Jo Thomson are a few of the line dance luminaries who have been invited to give workshops to the Section.

Regular dance classes take place on Monday and Thursday evenings at Lounge 1883, followed immediately by line dancing sessions.

Members are offered a self-paced program that comprises of a spectrum of fun and interesting projects designed to help them become better speakers, listeners & leaders.


SRC Toastmasters is proud to have helped many members become better communicators and leaders since its inception in 1998. Women’s Wing

The Women’s Wing has been active ever since its humble formation in 1994, organising social activities where members and their friends can strengthen family ties and learn new things.

Contrary to their name, the Women’s Wing is quick to emphasise that both genders of all ages are welcome to attend their events, which range from cooking, health and beauty talks, to family functions such as luncheons and dinner parties. The ladies have a big heart as well, regularly taking on charity projects and providing Club administration with additional help for certain functions.
