Balut is a Filipino delicacy of a fertilized duck egg, boiled and eaten in the shell. The Balut game originated as "Dice Poker," played by U.S. GIs in the Philippines when cards were scarce. Danish businessmen later modified its scoring system, naming it "Balut" after hearing a street vendor. The game blends luck and strategy, played casually in social settings.
